Why do art?
Art helps you to be curious, independent, balanced, and positive. Art makes life interesting and fulfilling. It helps you to solve problems, think critically, deal with challenges, and come up with new ways to do things. Be curious, try something new, believe that you can be creative, and don't worry about being perfect. Connect and work with other people to learn from them, help you with ideas, and increase your creativity.
Types of crafts
Textile crafts include any type of craft where you work with fabric or yarn such as sewing, knitting, quilting, weaving, and dyeing.
Paper crafts use paper or cardboard to make something such as printing, papier-mâché, calligraphy, collage, origami, scrapbooking, and wrapping paper.
Decorative crafts include crafts that look pleasing and are functional such as furniture making, metalwork, basketry, and toy making.
Fashion crafts include crafts that you can wear such as jewelry, hats, clothing, belts, and handbags.
Functional crafts are crafts that can be used in daily life such as pottery.
Collage
A collage is an artwork made up of cut or torn materials glued to a surface. A collage is made by assembling different forms and shapes to create an image. The word collage comes from the French word coller which means to glue.
To make a collage:

Cut out pieces of paper that are images, colors, and patterns.

Choose a subject for your collage.

Draw a picture or design onto the paper.

Place the pieces of magazines on the background paper.

Glue the pieces to the paper.
Subjects for a collage:
Landscape Collage (mountains, trees, oceans, or other natural scenery)
Animal Collage (dog, cat, bird, or zoo animal)
Home Collage (inside or outside image of a home)
Seasons Collage (Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter)

Types of art
Visual art is an object that you can see and is made using materials. It includes drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, illustration, crafts, photography, and ceramics.
Digital art is a form of visual art produced by digital means such as animation, film, video, and graphics.
Applied art is the application of design and decoration to everyday objects to make them look pleasing. It includes architecture (the art of designing and constructing buildings), industrial design (the creation and development of the function, value, and look of mass produced products), fashion design (the art of designing clothing and accessories) and interior design (the decoration of a room in a house, office, or other space with color schemes, furniture, objects, and other pleasing features).
Performing arts is art that is performed in front of an audience. It includes dance, acting, theater, and music.
Holiday Craft
Make a craft with a holiday theme. Create something to give someone as a holiday gift. There are many ideas online or in books for holiday crafts.
Art Show
Have an art show at your home. Send an email to family, friends, and neighbors with the date, time, and place the art show will be held and inviting them to enter their artwork. Hang drawings, paintings, and photography on the walls of a room. Display clay creations, ceramics, and handicrafts on tables. Label each artwork with the title and the artist's name on a piece of paper to place by each artwork. Serve refreshments.
Nature Craft
Use seeds, leaves, flowers, twigs, rocks, and other natural elements to create an artwork.
